| The Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Croatia (hereinafter referred to as "the Contracting Parties"), desiring to develop friendly relations between the peoples of their countries in the fields of culture and education in accordance with the Agreement signed in Beijing, on 7th June 1993 between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on Co-operation in the Fields of Culture and Education, have agreed to conclude the following Programme of Co-operation in the Fields of Culture and Education for the years 2001, 2002 and 2003. | | 中华人民共和国政府和克罗地亚共和国政府（以下简称“双方”），本着发展两国人民在文化及教育领域的友好关系的愿望，根据1993年6月7日在北京签署的《中华人民共和国政府和克罗地亚共和国政府文化教育合作协定》，就2001、2002和2003年文化教育合作执行计划达成如下协议： |

| The Contracting Parties shall support direct co-operation between the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and Chinese Academy of Science and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. | | 双方支持中国科学院和中国社会科学院同克罗地亚科学艺术院之间的直接合作。 |

| Article 2 | | 第二条 |
| The Contracting Parties shall support the exchange of exhibitions of excellent artistic level. | | 双方支持互办优秀的艺术展览。 |
| a) The Republic of Croatia expresses a desire to present an archeological exhibition or an exhibition of Chinese traditional paintings from the People's Republic of China in 2002, and the terms for the archeological exhibition shall be consulted through diplomatic channels; | | 1．2002年在克举办一个中国文物展览或中国国画展，而举办中国文物展的条件可通过外交途径另议； |
| b) The Republic of Croatia expresses a desire to present in the People's Republic of China the exhibition "The Croatian Naive Art " in 2003; | | 2．2003年在华举办“克罗地亚稚拙艺术”展； |
| c) In the course of the Programme, the Contracting Parties shall exchange one ethnographic exhibition each. | | 3．在本计划有效期内，双方互换一个民俗展览。 |

| In the course of the Programme the Republic of Croatia shall send invitations to Chinese artists to participate in the international fine arts events such as: International Biennial of Original Drawings in Rijeka, International triennial of Graphic Design in Zagreb, International Exhibition "Triennial of Ceramics" in Zagreb. | | 在本计划有效期内，克罗地亚共和国将邀请中国美术家参加以下国际美术交流活动：在里耶卡举办的每两年一届的国际绘画展；在萨格勒布举办的每三年一届的国际书籍装帧展；在萨格勒布举办的每三年一届的国际陶艺展。 |
| The People's Republic of China shall invite Croatian artists to participate in the respective international arts exhibitions in the People's Republic of China. | | 中华人民共和国将邀请克罗地亚美术家参加在中华人民共和国举办的相应的国际美术展。 |

| In the course of the Programme China Federation of Literary and Art Circle and the corresponding organization of the Republic of Croatia shall exchange one delegation of 5 persons for a 7-day visit each. | | 在本计划有效期内，中国文学艺术界联合会将与克罗地亚共和国相应组织互派一个5人代表团，进行为期一周的交流访问。 |

| In the course of the Programme the Contracting Parties shall organize the tour of a small music ensemble from the Republic of Croatia in China and the tour of a small music ensemble from the People's of China in Croatia, performing music on traditional Chinese instruments. | | 在本计划有效期内，双方将组织克罗地亚共和国一个小型乐队在华巡演及中华人民共和国一个小型乐队赴克巡演中国传统民乐。 |

| The Contracting Parties shall support direct co-operation between the Croatian and the Chinese institutions for protection and preservation of cultural heritage, with the aim to exchange experts and information on the state of cultural heritage in both countries. | | 双方支持中克两国文物保护部门之间旨在互换文物专家和交流两国文物状况信息的直接合作。 |
| The People's Republic of China shall send invitation to two Croatian experts to work and The Republic of Croatia shall invitation to two Chinese experts to work in the Restoration Center-Ludbreg. The details on experts' exchange shall be consulted through diplomatic channels. | | 克罗地亚共和国将邀请两位中国专家到路德伯瑞格文物修复中心工作，中华人民共和国将邀请两位克罗地亚专家到华工作。文物专家的种类可通过外交途径另行商议。 |

| a) The People's Republic of China shall invite a Croatian folk song and dance ensemble to take a tour in China , and The Republic of Croatia shall invite a Chinese folk song and dance ensemble to participate in the Zagreb International Folk Art Festival; | | 1．克罗地亚共和国将邀请一个中国民间歌舞团参加萨格勒布国际民间艺术节，中华人民共和国将邀请一个克罗地亚民间歌舞团赴华巡演。 |
| b) The People's Republic of China shall invite a Croatian child ensemble or theatre to take a tour in China, and the Republic of Croatia shall invite a Chinese child ensemble to take part in the Sibenik International Children's Festival. | | 2．克罗地亚共和国将邀请中国少儿艺术团参加在什贝尼克举办的国际少儿艺术节，中华人民共和国将邀请克罗地亚少儿艺术团或少儿艺术剧院赴华巡演。 |

| a) The People's Republic of China shall invite a Croatian puppet theatre ensemble to take a tour in China. | | 1．克罗地亚共和国将邀请一个中国木偶剧团参加萨格勒布国际木偶节。 |
| b) The Republic of Croatia shall invite a Chinese Puppet theatre ensemble to take part in Zagreb International Puppet Festival. | | 2．中华人民共和国将邀请一个克罗地亚木偶剧团来华巡演。 |
| Article 9 | | 第九条 |
The Contracting Parties shall support direct co-operation between Musical Youth Organizations of the two countries.
The Republic of Croatia shall send invitations to the Chinese artists willing to participate in the international competitions and performances organized in Croatia such as: International Violin Competition "Vaclav Huml", International violoncello Competition "Antonio Janigro", International Young Conductors Competition -- Lovro Matacis' and International Piano Competition EPTA. | | 双方支持两国青年音乐家间的直接合作。克罗地亚共和国将邀请中国艺术家参加在克举办的国际比赛和演出：“瓦茨拉夫·胡莫尔”国际小提琴比赛、“安东尼奥·亚尼格罗”国际大提琴比赛、“洛夫若·马塔契奇”国际青年指挥家比赛以及ＥＰＴＡ国际钢琴比赛。 |
| The People's Republic of China shall invite Croatian artists to participate in the respective international competitions and performances organized in the People's Republic of China. | | 中华人民共和国将邀请克罗地亚艺术家参加在华举办的相应的国际比赛和演出。 |
| Article 10 | | 第十条 |
| The Contracting Parties shall organize in their respective countries, in the course of the Programme, a presentation of film achievements of the other country within the week of Chinese film in 2001 and the week of Croatian film in 2002. | | 在本计划有效期内，双方将在对方国家举办本国的电影成就展，即于2001年举办中国电影周，2002年举办克罗地亚电影周。 |

| The Contracting Parties shall support the exchange of writers and scientific and literary translators. | | 双方支持两国作家及科学和文学专业翻译家的交流。 |

| The Contracting Parties shall encourage the publication of a Chinese-Croatian and Croatian-Chinese Dictionary. | | 双方鼓励出版汉克词典和克汉词典。 |
The Contracting Parties shall support translation and publication of literary and other works of importance written by Croatian and Chinese authors.
