The First Session of the Eighth National People's Congress decides:

1. to approve the proposal by the Drafting Committee for the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region on the Establishment of the Committee for the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region Under the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress; and   一、批准澳门特别行政区基本法起草委员会关于设立全国人民代表大会澳门特别行政区基本法委员会的建议。

 
2. to establish the Committee for the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region Under the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress when the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China is put into effect.   二、在《中华人民共和国澳门特别行政区基本法》实施时,设立全国人民代表大会常务委员会澳门特别行政区基本法委员会。

澳门特别行政区基本法起草委员会关于设立全国人民代表大会常务委员会澳门特别行政区基本法委员会的建议

 
1. Name: The Committee for the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region Under the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.   一、名称:全国人民代表大会常务委员会澳门特别行政区基本法委员会。

 
2. Affiliation: To be a working committee under the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.   二、隶属关系:是全国人民代表大会常务委员会下设的工作委员会。

 
3. Function: To study questions arising from the implementation of Articles 17, 18, 143, and 144 of the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region and submit its views thereon to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.   三、任务:就有关澳门特别行政区基本法十七条、第十八条、第一百四十三条、第一百四十四条实施中问题进行研究,并向全国人民代表大会常务委员会提供意见。

 
4. Composition: Ten members, five from the mainland and five from Macao, including persons from the legal profession, appointed by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for a term of office of five years. Macao members shall be Chinese citizens who are permanent residents of the Macao Special Administrative Regions with no right of abode in any foreign country and shall be nominated jointly by the Chief Executive, President of the Legislative Council and President of the Court of Final Appeal of the Region for appointment by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.   四、组成:成员十人,由全国人民代表大会常务委员会任命内地和澳门人士各五人组成,其中包括法律界人士,任期五年。澳门委员须由在外国无居留权的澳门特别行政区永久性居民中的中国公司担任由澳门特别行政区行政长官、立法会主席和终审法院院长联合提名,报全国人民代表大会常务委员会任命。
