| The State Council hereby approves the establishment of the Inter-Ministerial Joint Meeting System for the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests under the charge of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. The Joint Meeting shall neither have its own official seal nor officially issue documents. | In order to strengthen the organization of and guidance to the protection of consumer rights and interests, intensify the inter-ministerial collaboration and cooperation, further enhance the efficiency of protection of consumer rights and interests, and bring into further play the role of consumption in leading the economic development, with the approval of the State Council, the Inter-Ministerial Joint Meeting (hereinafter referred to as the “Joint Meeting”) System for the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests is hereby established. | | 为加强对消费者权益保护工作的组织领导，强化部门间协作配合，进一步提升消费维权工作效能，更好保护消费者合法权益，更好发挥消费对经济发展的引领作用，经国务院同意，建立消费者权益保护工作部际联席会议（以下简称联席会议）制度。 |

Under the leadership of the State Council, the Joint Meeting shall effectively implement the Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests, strengthen macro guidance to the protection of consumer rights and interests, research on and promote the major polices, measures and guidelines for the protection of consumer rights and interests, guide and urge relevant departments in effectively performing the duties for the protection of consumer rights and interests, coordinate to resolve major issues and major events in the protection of consumer rights and interests nationwide, integrate the social resources for the protection of consumer rights and interests, organize the control of infringement upon the consumer rights and typical violations of law, strengthen the coordination and cooperation in the protection of consumer rights and interests; intensify efforts for publicity and popularization of the Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests, and complete other tasks assigned by the State Council.
