The Decision of the Ministry of Justice on Amending the Measures for the Administration of Associations Formed by Law Firms of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or the Macao Special Administrative Region and Mainland Law Firms, which was adopted through deliberation at the executive meeting of the Ministry of Justice on March 4, 2008, is hereby promulgated, and shall be implemented as of the date of promulgation. | |

司法部关于修改《香港特别行政区和澳门特别行政区律师事务所与内地律师事务所联营管理办法》的决定 |
In order to promote the closer economic partnership between Hong Kong, Macao and Mainland, and according to the Supplementary Agreement IV on Hong Kong/Mainland Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement and the Supplementary Agreement IV on Macao/Mainland Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement as approved by the State Council, we decided to revise the Measures for the Administration of Associations Formed by Law Firms of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or the Macao Special Administrative Region and Mainland Law Firms as follows in light of the conditions of recent years about the associations operated by Hong Kong or Macao law firms and Mainland law firms: | |
为了促进香港、澳门与内地建立更紧密经贸关系，根据国务院批准的《〈内地与香港关于建立更紧密经贸关系的安排〉补充协议四》和《〈内地与澳门关于建立更紧密经贸关系的安排〉补充协议四》，结合近几年香港、澳门律师事务所与内地律师事务所开展联营的情况，决定对《香港特别行政区和澳门特别行政区律师事务所与内地律师事务所联营管理办法》作如下修改： |

I. Article 2 shall be revised as: “The term ‘association' as mentioned in the present Measures means that a Hong Kong or Macao law firm that has established a representative office in the Mainland cooperates with a Mainland law firm, by means of which both parties may, according to the contractual rights and obligations, operate in the Mainland, and respectively provide Hong Kong or Macao and Mainland legal services to the clients.”
