In accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on National Defense issued on March 14, 1997, the Civil Aviation Law of the People's Republic of China issued on October 30, 1995, and the General Flight Rules of the People's Republic of China issued on July 27, 2001, the People's Republic of China announces the establishment of the East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone. The specific scope covers the airspace that is formed by connecting the following six spots and China's line of territorial sea: 33o11'N 121o47'E, 33o11'N 125o00'E, 31o00'N 128o20'E, 25o38'N 125o00'E, 24o45'N 123o00'E, and 26o44'N 120o58'E.
