| The Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Heroes and Martyrs (hereinafter referred to as the “Law on the Protection of Heroes and Martyrs”) was adopted after deliberation at the 2nd Session of the Standing Committee of the Thirteenth National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China on April 27, 2018 and came into force on May 1, 2018. For the purpose of correctly applying the Law on the Protection of Heroes and Martyrs in the trial, relevant matters are hereby notified as follows: | | 《中华人民共和国英雄烈士保护法》 （以下简称《英烈保护法》）经2018年4月27日第十三届全国人民代表大会常务委员会第二次会议审议通过，自2018年5月1日起施行。为在审判工作中正确适用《英烈保护法》，现就有关事项通知如下： |
I. Fully recognizing the significance of implementing the Law on the Protection of Heroes and Martyrs. The Law on the Protection of Heroes and Martyrs is an important law developed for the purposes of strengthening the protection of heroes and martyrs, safeguarding the public interest, and upholding and passing on the spirit of heroes and martyrs and the spirit of patriotism, and is of great significance for fostering and practicing the core values of socialism and unleashing the strong spiritual power to realize the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Efforts shall be made to place high emphasis on, learn and implement by heart the relevant provisions of this Law, protect the lawful rights and interests of heroes and martyrs by judicial means, maintain public order and good customs, and carry forward the core values of socialism and resist the historical nihilism.
