| Article 1 These Provisions are formulated according to the People's Police Law of the People's Republic of China for the purpose of strengthening the normalization construction of police team, regulating and safeguarding the lawful fulfillment of functions by the people's police in public security organs. | | 第一条 为了加强公安队伍正规化建设，规范和保障公安机关人民警察依法履行职责，根据《中华人民共和国人民警察法》，制定本规定。 |

| Article 2 These Provisions shall be applicable to the public security organs at all levels across the country; the public security organs for railways, transportation, civil aviation and forestry; the customs anti-smuggling departments, as well as the people's police therein. | | 第二条 本规定适用于全国各级公安机关，铁路、交通、民航、森林公安机关和海关缉私部门及其人民警察。 |

| Article 3 The people's police in public security organs shall use uniform people's police identification cards. | | 第三条 公安机关人民警察使用统一的人民警察证。 |

| Article 4 The people's police identification cards are the proof and symbol of the status of the people's police in public security organs, as well as the proof and symbol for the lawful fulfillment of functions. | | 第四条 人民警察证是公安机关人民警察身份和依法执行职务的凭证和标志。 |
When the people's police in public security organs are fulfilling functions, they shall carry people's police identification cards on themselves and show them voluntarily to indicate their people's police status unless it is otherwise provided by any laws or regulations. | |
公安机关人民警察在依法执行职务时，除法律、法规另有规定外，应当随身携带人民警察证，主动出示并表明人民警察身份。 |

| Article 5 The people's police identification cards shall be issued to the people's police in public security organs who are on the staff, on the job and have been given police ranks. | | 第五条 人民警察证发放范围为公安机关在编、在职并已经评授警衔的人民警察。 |
It is rigidly prohibited to issue people's police identification cards to the persons other than those provided in the preceding paragraph. | |
严禁向非发放范围人员发放人民警察证。 |
