In January 2009, Liang Shu (female, domiciled in Nan'an City, Fujian Province) married Liang Hua (male, a resident of Taiwan Region) upon registration in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. On April 30, 2009, Liang Hua instituted an action for divorce to the Family Affairs Tribunal of the Taiwan Changhua District Court. The Taiwan Changhua District Court served the written complaint and a summons on Liang Shu, and Liang Shu entrusted an agent ad litem to appear in court; and both parties reached a settlement agreement in the action. Therefore, the Taiwan Changhua District Court made a civil settlement transcript (No. 203 [2009], Taiwan Changhua District Court) on September 2, 2009, confirming that “both parties were willing to divorce.”
