| China became an official member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) on January 1, 1994. In accordance with the Provisions on the Implementation of the Patent Cooperation Treaty in China as issued by the Chinese Patent Office, you are hereby notified of relevant matters concerning the acceptance of international applications filed by Taiwan compatriots as follows: | | 我国于1994年1月1日正式成为《专利合作条约》（PCT ） 的成员国。根据中国专利局颁布的《关于中国实施专利合作条约的规定》，现就我局受理台胞国际申请的有关事项通知如下： |
| I. The SIPO, as the receiving office of international applications, accepts the international applications filed by Taiwan compatriots. | | 一、国家知识产权局作为国际申请的受理局，受理台胞提出的国际申请。 |
II. Where a Taiwan compatriot files an international application to the SIPO, he or she shall authorize a patent agency legally formed to make the application, in which the SIPO is the international searching authority or international preliminary examination authority, or the designated office or elected office, and to handle other matters relating to the international application.
