After the extraordinarily massive earthquake hit Wenchuan, Sichuan province, some local procuratorial organs suffered heavy property losses and casualties, which have made it impossible to continue the examination and prosecution of some cases. To ensure the smooth rehabilitation and reconstruction of procuratorial organs in disaster-stricken areas and maintain a normal social order in disaster-stricken areas, we hereby notify you of the relevant issues as follows: | |

I. During the course of examination and prosecution, the people's procuratorate may decide to suspend the examination of a case being handled if it is impossible to continue the examination and prosecution of the case for a relatively long time due to a massive natural disaster such as earthquake.
