In accordance with the provisions of the Decision of the State Council on Cancelling and Adjusting the Third Set of Items Subject to Administrative Examination and Approval (No. 16 [2004] of the State Council), the administrative methods for “the filing of foreigners who study at Chinese religious institutions” has been modified, and such filing is not subject to administrative examination and approval but to the self-management of the religious bodies. The State Administration for Religious Affairs has decided to amend the Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Provisions on the Administration of Religious Activities of Foreigners within the Territory of the People's Republic of China
